🍁 About Fringe News

Unfiltered. Unfunded. Unapologetic.
Founded sometime between the fall of civilization and last Tuesday, Fringe News was born in a drafty shed somewhere north of Edmonton when a group of coffee-fueled Canadians decided the national conversation needed less noise and more nonsense — but, you know, credible nonsense.

🪶 Our Mission
To bring the public hard-hitting satire disguised as journalism, journalism disguised as satire, and the occasional recipe for homemade tinfoil hats.
We cover the stories other outlets are too afraid to invent — politics, culture, and the occasional beaver uprising — all through the lens of ordinary folks who still believe truth should come with plaid and a splash of hot chocolate.

🧢 Our Team
Led by Buckley Tinfoil, a man whose flannel is thicker than his firewall, the Fringe News team works tirelessly to misinterpret current events for your amusement.
Our correspondents include:
Bev R. Dam, investigating all things wet, wild, and wildly speculative.
Gordie Truthsmith, our semi-retired fact-checker who proudly checked one fact in 2019.
Cassie Plaidwell, fashion and lifestyle expert — if it’s plaid, she’s on it.
Rusty McFacts, political analyst and caffeine enthusiast.
Lana Logsden, reporting from the wilderness with a rotary phone and a dream.
Chip Mapleton, tech reporter who still thinks “the cloud” is weather-related.
Anne Tagonist, opinion columnist who disagrees with everyone, including herself.
Sir Fuzzy, Emotional Support Beaver, and the only staff member who can swim to work.

🪓 Our Values
Transparency: We make up nothing we wouldn’t admit to under oath.
Integrity: Every story is at least 60% real feelings and 40% maple syrup.
Accountability: If we’re wrong, we’ll blame autocorrect.

☕ Why We Exist
Because someone had to say it — and because the CBC won’t return our calls.
We believe in satire that’s clever, Canadian, and occasionally caffeinated. Whether we’re covering political chaos, cultural curiosities, or conspiracy-adjacent wildlife, our goal is simple:
To make you laugh, think, and maybe question your Wi-Fi signal.
